Barbora graduated from the Masaryk University in the field of English and American studies (2010) and from the Charles University in the fields of translation and interpreting (2015). She completed a course for translators of legal texts organised by the Masaryk University in Brno. In 2019, she was appointed a sworn translator and interpreter by the Regional Court in Brno. Barbora joined Orange Tree still a student in 2012, eventually becoming a senior translator. She also translates from German and provides simultaneous interpreting between Czech and English. Barbora’s key responsibilities include strategic management of the company and mentoring. She is also interested in deployment of modern translation tools in practice.
Martin graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague (1999). He works as a freelance translator for the EU Court of Justice (since 2003) and for the European Investment Bank (since 2017). His long-term focus includes translations of contracts, corporate documents and materials for litigation and arbitration. Martin translated the Czech Labour Code for its commented English edition. Given his bilingual origin, he guarantees the quality of English translations in Orange Tree. He oversees English terminology and training of new translators. He also translates from Spanish.
Alžběta graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague (1999). After passing the State Interpreters’ and Translators’ Examination in 2008, she was appointed by the Municipal Court in Prague as a sworn translator and interpreter for the English language. She focuses on translation of documents for litigation and arbitration. She also has extensive experience with translating foreign corporate documents into Czech. As a specialised proof-reader, Alžběta participated in the translation of the new Czech Civil Code into English. In Orange Tree, she is responsible for sworn (certified) translations. She also translates from French.
Markéta graduated from the Faculty of Education at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice in the fields of the English language and history (2004). She has extensive experience in the area of teaching methodology for English, language courses and training. In Orange Tree, Markéta is responsible for the areas of finance and human resources. Her tasks also include presentation of Orange Tree in social networks. Markéta speaks English, French and Spanish.
Lucie graduated from the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague in the field of translation studies (2013). She completed a course for translators of legal texts organised by the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague and the Chamber of Court-appointed Interpreters in English (2012) and German (2015), as well as a traineeship at the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission in Luxembourg. In 2017, she was appointed by the Regional Court in Plzeň as a sworn translator and interpreter. Lucie is a Senior Translator for German, English and Czech languages. She specialises in translations of legal documents and also translates literary texts. Lucie founded and manages our branch in Plzeň.
Jan graduated from Ostrava University in the field of Business Russian and took a specialised course for translators of legal texts from Russian at Masaryk University. Since 1995, he has worked as a freelance translator of legal texts between Czech and English. He also translates from Russian to Czech and English. He specialises mainly in translations of contracts and corporate documents. He also has extensive experience with translating technical texts and has long been co-operating with the academia, especially with Masaryk University in Brno. In 2013, he founded the Brno branch of Orange Tree. As Branch Manager, he is responsible for communication with clients and daily management of the branch. He also heads the East Slavonic language section.
