Our Head of English Translations was again the only translator standing on the virtual winners’ podium in a contest jointly organised by the Czech Association for Ukrainian Studies, Czech Literary Translators’ Guild, Department of East European Studies of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University and The Embassy of Ukraine in Prague. The award ceremony, which was streamed online to comply with the current public-health measures, was attended by representatives of the Association and His Excellency the Ambassador of Ukraine in the Czech Republic, Yevhen Perebyinis, with his wife. In the artistic prose category, the participants competed in translating an excerpt from Спитайте Мієчку, a novel by Yevheniia Kuznetsova.
Just a few days after the ceremony, Veronika successfully concluded her licence proceedings with the Ministry of Justice and, having taken an oath before the Minister, was appointed sworn translator for her main working languages: English, Russian and Ukrainian. She joins the ranks of other sworn translators of English on our team and will help to further broaden the range of services we provide to our clients (e.g., by providing digitally certified translations from and into Russian and Ukrainian).
We congratulate Veronika on both these excellent professional achievements!
